Commerce was the first map.
A commerce degree provided a disciplined way to look at firms, incentives, numbers and institutions. It was a beginning, not a final definition.
Completed a B.Com (Honours) at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, in 2016.
What I was exploring
What can accounting describe, and what does it leave out? How do rules make complicated activity legible? At this stage, the most visible questions belonged to the commercial world: costs, organisations, decisions, and the difference between a good explanation and a convenient one.
Looking back, without rewriting the past
Looking backward, commerce seems less like a narrow track than an introduction to the art of deciding what counts. A ledger is useful precisely because it is selective. It records a kind of reality—transactions, obligations, resources—but it does not record a colleague's courage, a customer's uncertainty, or the judgement required when the numbers do not settle a decision.
That interpretation belongs to the present narrator, not to a transcript of what I thought on graduation day. The degree stands as a documented fact; the meaning I now take from it remains open to revision.
A PRESENT-DAY REFLECTIONMeasurement is a tool for seeing, never a complete account of what exists.
